Zurich Insurance is currently looking for an experienced Senior Cyber, E&O Underwriter (Level II or Level III) to join our Professional Liability & Cyber team! This is a market facing position that will support Zurich’s growth initiatives for the professional liability and cyber team.  In this role, you will underwrite and perform risk analysis across Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Tech E&O, Employed lawyers and Security and Privacy. The position will have technical, transactional and market facing responsibilities; and it will also make contributions in the areas of product/proposition development, marketing, fulfillment, and portfolio management. 

 

Our Underwriters are responsible for:  

 

  • Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules
  • Developing and maintain relationships with the external broker and agency communities and other internal Zurich business units to meet production growth goals
  • Providing superior service to our broker partners and customers
  • Identifying and calculating the potential risk of loss from policyholders while establishing appropriate premium rates following Zurich guidelines
  • Managing a portfolio of accounts and developing a pipeline of business
  • Collaborating and cross selling with other stakeholders and lines of business within Zurich  

 

Senior Cyber, E&O Underwriter II (Level II) Basic Qualifications:  

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims, Underwriting Support area
    OR
  • Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
    OR
  • Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
    AND
  • Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

 

Senior Cyber, E&O Underwriter III (Level III) Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting Market Facing Area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting o r Market Facing area (ADD POP addendum)
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Unde rwriting Support area
    AND
  • Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Underwriting experience in cyber and professional liability products
  • Established broker relationships
  • Service oriented and responsive
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to effectively assess risk
